SC, ST Development Corp organizes awareness camp

JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corporation organized an awareness camp here at Central University.
Apart from University authorities a large number of students participated in the Camp.
The purpose of organizing the camp was to create awareness about the schemes of the Corporation envisaging socio-economic empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, their dependents and handicapped (Persons with Disabilities of 40% and above) with special emphasis on education loan schemes.
On the occasion, Shailender Salathia, Deputy Registrar, Central University Jammu appreciated the initiative taken by the Corporation for conducting awareness camp for the students of the University. He asked that such programmes are highly beneficial for the unemployed youth and provide opportunities to university pass outs to start their self -employment ventures.
Deputy General Manager Projects of the Corporation and Technical Officer Projects highlighted in detail the schemes and procedures for availing benefit of these schemes by the targeted group members.
The students evinced keen interest in the schemes of the Corporation, particularly in Educational Loan scheme.
The Financial Advisor and General Manager of the Corporation also asked the gathering to avail maximum benefits of schemes of the Corporation. Later, application forms were distributed among the students besides conducting registration of applicants.
