`Below' average services at SBI Nowshera irks customers

Rajouri, Dec 17: Despite tall claims of better customer services by the higher authorities, the State Bank of India's Nowshera branch in Rajouri district has become a headache for its customers as they are getting below average services.
"Only 2-3 employees have been deputed to deal with 3-4 hundreds customers daily. People from far flung/ border areas come to this branch but after spending 4-5 hours goes back with instructions to come next day" said Raja Singh of Dhanaka.
He added for the last six months no entry was made in and other customers of the bank including Kusum Bala r/o Kalsian border village (about 15 kilometres from Nowshera).A serving soldier namely Ramesh Chander r/o border village Lam said that he has 8 accounts in this branch including his salary account.
"I have applied for new ATM card and for the last few days I am taking round of this branch but without any positive response. I have to complete other formalities before joining back duty but the staff misbehave and threats to lodge FIR against me" said Ramesh.
He has appealed to higher authorities to go for CCTV camera footage and take necessary action against the employees who have been creating chaos for the bank customers who have expressed their resentment today and raised slogans against the bank employees.
"Every customer of this bank has been facing many problems in getting their routine works. I have applied for ATM in the month of October but till today no card was issued. Even since 2016 no entry was registered on my account copy claiming the machine is out of order" said an aged Balbir Singh.
He added my wife is sick and I need money for her treatment. The bank employees insisting to bring new ATM card for which I have applied about 2 months back. D.K Sharma, SBI, branch manager, Nowshera admitted about the difficulties being faced by the customers.
"Our new building is ready at other locations with latest instruments/ machinary installed. Next month the branch office will be shifted and the people will not face any such problems in the future" said branch manager.
