National exhibition of visual arts at Kala Kendra opened

Jammu, Jan 8: National Exhibition of Visual Arts by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) was today inaugurated by Jenab Mohammad Saleem Shishgar at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Film maker and Director and Advisor JKCCA was the guest of honour on this occasion.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, additional Secretary JKAACL & Secretary, Kala Kendra, and Dharminder Sharma, senior artist from Amritsar & Advisor, JKCCA were the Special Guests on this occasion. The art works of thirty eight veteran, senior and young artists from 14 states of the country have been displayed in the show.
O P Sharma Director JKCCA welcomed the guests and gave a brief resume of the activities of the Centre. Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu which was established way back in 1999 by some art lovers and enthusiasts to promote, preserve and propagate art heritage. JKCCA has so far organized hundreds of art & culture activities in the country including All India Art Exhibitions and Art Camps and four International Art Exhibitions of Art in different cities of the country. He added that JKCCA will organize National Art Exhibition of Paintings at Goa between 31st January to 3rd February, 2019 and a Miniature Art Camp will be held at Mansar I the month of March. 2019..
Saleem Shishgar said that there is a need to work collectively for the promotion of art & culture. he said that the culture Department would spread out the areas of activities of art & culture to the root basis. He said that the students of schools and colleges as well as the communities are to be associated with such endeavours.
The art works of the following artists will be on display: V S Rahi, Dr. A K Dixit (New Delhi), N D Jamwal, Gokal Dembi, T S Batra, Ashok Mehra, Bhushan Kesar, Jang S. Verman, Jasleen Singh, Kamal Nain Bhan, Aslam Naqshbandi, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Mohd. Akram Khan, O P Sharma, Rouf Qyasi, Shakti Kumari, Amrit Kaur, Anuradha, Deepa Soni, Shivani Bhat Koul and Kaunain Zubair (J&K), Dr. Nathu Lal Verma, Dr. Nisha Soni (Rajsthan), B R Bodade, Madhu Sharma (MP), Anuradha Thakur, Ramesh Bhosale (MR), Kanu Patel (Gujrat), B Sireesha (Telangana), Kusum Choauhan (Haryana) Dharminder Sharma, K S Gill, Gaytri (Punjab), Dr. Mamta Singh (UK), Dr. Ramshabad Singh, Pratima Singh (UP), Prabhinder Lall (Chandigarh), Shyam Sharma (Bihar) and Tapan Kar (W Bengal).
The exhibition is curated by O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA under the supervision of Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President JKCCA.
Prominent among others who were present on this occasion included Prof. T S Batra, Jang S. Verman, Anil Saraf, Rampaul Dogra, Suresh Sharma, Varinder Sumly, Joginder Paul, Kuldip Gupta and others.
