Lack of electricity, water hampers work in GDC Surankote

Poonch, Jan 10: Due to lack of power and water supply to the new building of Govt Degree Surakote has hampered the work students alleged adding the restoration of power as well as water supply should be made on priority.
The new building of Govt Degree College Surankote have been Constructed on Modern lines by the Public Works Department The building has a capacity to house nearly one thousand students with state of art laboratory and class rooms. Sources said the work in laboratory have been suffered due to non availability of water and power and laboratory which is well equipped with state of art equipments has gone defunct go affected as no work is being done without power and water they added.
Similarly six classrooms out of which four class rooms have been constructed on modern lines with latest equipment and well furnished were not being thrown open for students as there was no light to use the gadgets. Due to non availability of power and water supply we are not able to provide benefit of modern classrooms of the students said a senior facility member Dr Wajahat Jaffri adding this college has been established in 2013 and has both art and medical facilities for the students but after shifting to this building we have been facing problem due to non availability of power and water, he added.
Meanwhile principal of the college Dr Tejinder Singh while talking to Early Times said that we brought the issue under the notice of higher authorities but till date nothing has been done.
We urge higher education department and district administration to provide the necessary service to this college, he added.
