Senior PDP leaders boycott function to felicitate Hamid Choudhary
1/11/2019 11:36:53 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 11: Simmering discontent in PDP region came on the fore today when senior party leaders boycotted the function which was organised to felicitate newly picked vice president of the party Choudhary Abdul Hamid. Majority of the senior leaders, especially those who have been associated with the party since its formation, have boycotted the function.
Credible sources said that former Rajya Sabha member and PDP's face in Jammu region Trilok Singh Bajwa, Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, (all founding members of the party), Abdul Rashid, Hussain Ali Waffa, Rashid Malik, Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Harmesh Salathia, Deepak Handa and majority of the district presidents and senior leaders were absent in today's function which was organized to felicitate Choudhary Hamid on his appointment as vice president of the party.
Sources said that serious differences have been cropped up within Jammu unit of PDP because ignoring views of majority of the senior leaders PDP leadership has intentionally picked up Choudhary Hamid for the post of vice president to cut senior leaders to the size.
Sources said that like Kashmir Valley, PDP leadership is working to humiliate those leaders who were associated with late Mohammad Mohammad Sayeed so that weak and junior leaders will be given charge of party in Jammu.
If the decision to install Choudhary is not revoked then senior party leaders from Jammu region could contemplate to quit the organization as they are feeling suffocated within, added sources.
