Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 20: Prayaas continue their awareness drive about role of education in society and to eliminate poverty, Members of the organization held an awareness camp about importance of education and urged the youth of India to join their initiative. Needy people and slum children were fed with eatables while warm clothes, shoes, blankets, notebooks, pen, pencils were also distributed at Bahu Plaza Public Park near SBI bank, Jammu.
Chairmen Prayaas, Navjot Bakshi and Vice Chairmen, Rahul Prasher urged the youth of J&K state to indulge in social activities rather than getting plunged into drug abuse and other immoral activities in order to make our state in particular and our country in general a peaceful, prosperous, devoid of illiteracy, poverty, malnutrition and distress. Lack of education and illiteracy leads to rise of various social evils like crime, domestic violence, poor health, poor moral values and sick mentality which eventually leads poverty, said Neha Sharma (scholar JU). The Prayaas group appealed to the educated youth of J&K to come forward and support at least four poor children in pursuing their education per year.
Other prominent Prayaas members who contributed to make this event successful included Rinku Sharma (President), Rajat Sharma (Senior Vice President), Shubam Bali (Vice President), Sahil Sharma (Joint Secy.) Sanjeev Anand (Gen Secy.), Mukesh Kumar, Swayam Bali, Sugam Bali, Deepika Thapa, Shubam Prasher, Marvi Basotra, Barbie Basotra, Mukesh Kumar, Veeram Dutta, Lucky Sharma and Vishal Burva.
