22 opposition parties pushed BJP to Catch 22 situation
1/20/2019 11:33:07 PM
Jamwal Mahadeep Singh

The mega rally convened by
Trinamool Congress chief and CM of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, who had rolled out the red carpet for a united opposition's meet at Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata, attended by leaders of twenty two opposition parties has pushed BJP into Catch 22 situation, a problem, task, situation, or course of action in which the outcome or solution Modi jee desires appears to be difficult or impossible to achieve due to conflicting, implausible, puzzling rules, regulations and conditions created during his spread over tenure. The rally turned out to be an anti-BJP platform ahead of the general elections. The coming together of several opposition leaders apparently to prepare a roadmap for a coalition against the ruling BJP and notably the impressive and mass based leaders having recognition at the ground level in their states, registering their presence in the muscle show by opposition leaders, likely to panic the Modi-led BJP government. The presence of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, (Janata Dal (Secular) party), former Union ministers Yashwant Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha and Arun Shourie; three present chief ministers Arvind Kejriwal AAP leader and CM of Delhi, Chandrababu Naidu, TDP leader and Andhra Pradesh CM, H D Kumaraswamy, JD(S) leader and Karnataka Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, chairman NC and former CM of J&K, Omar Abdullah former CM of J&K, Akhilesh Yadav Samajwadi Party chief and former CM of Uttara Pradesh, Gegong Apang (Arunachal Pradesh), Mallikarjun Kharge (INC), Abhishek Manu Singhvi (INC), M K Stalin (DMK chief), Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, ex- deputy CM of Bihar, and current leader of opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Sharad Pawar, (President of Nationalist Congress Party), S C Mishra, BSP leader, and many more notable mass leaders has definitely vanished the sleep of BJP camp. At the same time, annoyance of Modi jee, who is on election mood in Gujarat (Silvasa) hurriedly regurgitated, terming the coming together of opposition parties as alliance not against him but against the people of India. Surely one has to agree with the half statement that the coming together of these opposition leaders is not against Modi jee but against his fake commitments, dictatorial decisions, arrogance, flawed schemes, intolerance during his tenure, escalation of militancy in J&K, always in election mood, draining tax payers money on his foreign tours, draining tax payers money on advertisements to promote himself, benefitting the crony capitalists, making India worst country for women in the World (data by Thompson and reuters), pushing India to position 42 from 27 in 2014 in Global democracy index, and many more. So far terming the get together against the people of India by Modi jee is concerned, he failed to realize that it is awakening the people of India about falsifications let lose by Modi-led Government, his false data on welfare schemes. This mega event marks an important event to galvanize leaders from across the political spectrum and to fight the arrogant Modi government. In the first meeting of the Grand Alliance, the summarization of deliberations, we can pen down as: To defeat the ideology of present dispensation that is bent upon to destroy the secular system of the Nation. The country's economy is in doldrums; this is the first government that plays around and exaggerates facts and figures. No other government has told so many lies. Never before were institutions undermined in this manner. Not one institution is left which has not been destroyed by the current government at the centre. The country at large is under immense strain. Economically, citizens have been stripped. Politically, institutions have been undermined. After 70 years, India has yet another challenge: people are being divided on religious lines. Since its coming to power, the current government has given problems from all sides. The BJP government is not for commoners, it's for corporate. Modi government is intolerant of any criticism. Factories have closed down, farmers are in distress, minorities are the worst affected under this government. Such a government needs to be uprooted.
The participating leaders are on acceptance that they have to work out how to give good governance without any hindrance. They need to build confidence in the people that a coalition will last five years. They need to forget their differences and have to compromise with their individual aspirations for the greater cause. This is not about removing one man from power. They have to defeat an ideology. They must sacrifice for the country, with a sense of love for it. In the last five years, the Modi-Amit Shah combine has finished this country. Today, the people are fed up with them. The Prime Minister has lied, taken votes from the youth, promised them jobs. Today, jobs are a far-fetched ideal, there is a job deficit and the farmers are worst hit. Farmers are committing suicide, when their crops are destroyed. Modi and Shah hand them over to insurance companies.
India is one of the strongest democracies, unity and diversity is our future. However, today we're witnessing a system where there is an undemocratic, and arrogant government at the Centre, accommodating those charged with murder, rape, kidnapping, attempt to murder in its ministry. Regional parties have the strong instinct to connect with the people and protect the interests of their states. The alliance of regional parties as it happened in UP betwixt BSP and SP, in the states is definitely going to dent the BJP and its dreams of come back in 2019 appear to be a distant dream.
Let us visit the states that contributed a lot for BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha and the present political scenario in these states. Uttar Pradesh contributed 71 seats of the 80, and taken as gateway to Delhi crown. But the recent coming together of BSP and SP surely going to bring down BJP to a considerable level. Madhya Pradesh contributed 27 of the 29 seats and this happened when BJP was in power in the state. Whereas the state has slipped from BJP and Congress in power and this aspect is going to create a maximum dent on the face of BJP in 2019. Rajasthan doled out all the 25 seats in BJP lap but now the state scenario has slipped from BJP to Congress and BJP surely to get a shameful defeat in the Rajasthan. The Gujarat returned all 26 seats in favor of BJP but the state election results of 2017 in Gujarat (of 182 seats BJP 99 and Congress 77), the situation is different and BJP also losing its in this state. In Maharashtra BJP pooling 23 of 48 in overall kitty is facing criticism from Shiv Sena and this is going to affect the BJP number to a considerable size. Karnataka mandating 17 seats of 28 in favor of BJP will see a sea change as the government in the state has slipped from BJP in the state to a viable coalition. Chhattisgarh returning 10 of 11 seats is likely to face a big damage as three time BJP government in the state has smashed to ground and Congress has been accepted in the state. J&K is not going to return even a single MP in BJP quota owing to its destruction of Jammu and Ladakh region by BJP. Collectively above referred 8 states have returned 202 MPs of 253 seats in BJP's wallet and these states after new dispensation are going to reject the BJP at the maximum.
It also becomes necessary to throw light on the states having double digit Lok Sabha seats and BJP stand at the negligible point. Kerala having 20 seats with zero for BJP, Tamil Nadu having 39 seats and BJP just one, West Bengal BJP just 2 of the 42, Odisha having 21 seats just single seat of BJP, Telangana 2 seats of 17, Punjab of 13 seats just 2 that too when Akali, a coalition of BJP was in rule in the state that now stand ruled by Congress and AAP at the comfortable position. Collectively these six states having 152 Lok Sabha seats, BJP has just 7 seats in its kitty. These are the states where there are bleak chances of BJP performing better owing to the weight age of regional parties in these states.
On much trumpeted vocalization that who has to lead the 'Mahagathvandhan' that is often referred as 'Mahathagvandhan' jealously by BJP coterie, we can visit some of the pages of the Indian History that reflect that we have seen many 'Accidental Prime Ministers' who were never known or little known in the public domain such as S/Sh. H D Deve Gowda, Charan Singh, Chandra Shekhar, Inder K Gujral, Manmohan Singh and even Narinder Modi (prior to his emerging on national scene). If the coming together of these opposition leaders fructify, BJP has to pack up and circumstances are heading towards this situation. Ultimately these are the voters and wish of God that prevail upon. Let us come out from the fuss being created by political parties for power lust and pray to God to give strength to the voters to press the button favoring a political party that has the senses of bettering the country, bettering the commoners of the country.
