| Court denies bail to alleged narco smuggler | | |

JAMMU, Jan 21: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhou rejected the bail application of Binu Singh son of Chhaju Singh resident of Uttam Nagar Chib Mohalla Gangyal tehsil and district Jammu presently lodged in District Jail Ambphalla, Jammu an alleged Narco Smuggler.
Court after hearing both the sides observed that accused is involved in a heinous offence as from the possession of the accused 30 injections of Diazepam, 20 injections of Phenergon and 19 injections of Rexogesic were recovered and the recovery of the intoxicants is a commercial quantity and rigor of section 37 NDPS Act is applicable in the present case and applicant-accused has been implicated for possession of seized contraband/drugs which fall in the category of Commercial quantity and provisions of bail are to be considered in the light of section 37 of the NDPS Act, which creates a bar for grant of bail to the accused. With these observations Court rejected the bail application. |
