Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 22: In a clear contempt of orders of the State high court, the department of health and medical education has selectively implemented the orders by allowing the Dental Assistants of Kashmir division to join while depriving the same to those of Jammu division. The aspirants of Jammu region are being ignored and their file is gathering dust in the office of the Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Department despite a Judgment issued by the Jammu court in the favour of aspirants of Jammu region on 31-08-2017.
"Despite clear cut directions from court, file of aspirants of Jammu region is allegedly gathering dust in the office of the Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Department", said sources.
It is pertinent to mention here that Service Selection Board (SSB) Jammu and Kashmir as per advertisement Notice No. 10 of 2013 dated 10-10-2013 had issued advertisement for various posts including Dental Assistants/ Junior Dental Technicians. However selection of some candidates possessing Diploma of Dental Hygienist recognised by Dental Council of India (DCI) across the state was withheld by the Board.
After the aspirants of the Valley possessing Diploma of Dental Hygienist approached the court and got favourable orders from the court, they were adjusted in the Health and Medical Education Department.
Meanwhile, after adjustment of their counter parts, Jammu based aspirants also approached the court and court in its judgment ordered consideration of the petitioners.
"Respondent Board is directed to treat the petitioners as eligible for the post of dental Assistants. They shall be considered as eligible for selection and appointment strictly in accordance with the merit obtained by them in the selection process so initiated pursuant to advertisement Notice No. 10 of 2013 dated 10-10-2013. Let the needful be done within a period of one month from the date, a copy of this order is made available to the respondents", reads the judgment pronounced by Dhiraj Singh Thakur on 31-08-2017.
Following the judgment, the Service Selection Board (SSB) had issued selection list in favour of Jammu based petitioners but after that the Health and Medical Education Department overlooked the selection list of SSB. It is also alleged by some aspirants that some black sheep in the office of the Principal Secretary were demanding huge bribe for releasing their joining orders.
Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Department-Atal Dullo when contacted said that he will look into the matter.
