Jammu, Jan 28: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu (PLSJ) organized a Punjabi Kavi Durabar at K L Saigal hall of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu in connection with Republic Day. According to press release, Prof. Surinder Singh Seerat, a well known ghazal writer and a novelist of Jammu, now an NRI in California (US), well known Punjabi writer from Kashmir Ajit Singh Mastana presided over the functions. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi was the Chief Guest and Surinder Singh Seerat as Special Gues on this occasion. Dr. Monojit, President, PLS and Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, General Secretary, PLS shared the dais. A punjabi book titled 'Mitti Di Mehak (Pakistan Safarnama)' written by Charanjit Singh Pannu, a Punjabi poet settled in America. Dr. Monojit gave the details of the activities of PLS and gave a brief of the contribution PLS and the importance of this Kavi Durbar. He said that PLS would organize such regular events at major level. Punjabi poets from Jammu and Kashmir presented their poetry related to patriotism and values in life and other aspects of awareness. Piara Singh Dhanjal, Amar Singh Kuka, Joginder Singh Paandhi, Jang S. Verman, Bachan Bharti, Harbhajan Singh Upashak, Dr. Baljeet Singh raina, Dr. Monojit, Surinder Singh Seerat, Gurdhyan Singh Saanjh, Balwinder Singh Deep, Pritam Singh Anjaan, K K Shakir, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, As Mastana, M S Kamra, Manjit Singh Jugnu, Harsimranjeet Singh, Gurpreet Kaur, Prof. Nirmal Vinod and A S Mastana. Prominent among others who were present in the function included and Prof. Raj Kumar Sharma, Ajit Singh, Dr. Kamaljit Singh, Sham Talib, Hardeep Singh Deep, Suman Pal and others. |
