| 14 bovines rescued, vehicle seized | | | Samba, Jan 30: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma-SSP Samba succeeded in foiling yet another bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Ghagwal police station by rescuing 14 bovines.
Police spokesman said that today, a Police Party of Ghagwal police station headed by Inspector Rajeev Kumar-SHO Ghagwal in coordination with District Special Branch (DSB) Samba under the supervision of Deepak Digra-DySP Hqrs. Samba during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a truck bearing Registration number JK08F-3745 which was coming from Kathua side.
"The driver on seeing the Police Party accelerated the vehicle and abandoned the vehicle at NHW Jatwal", said spokesman adding that during checking of the vehicle 14 cattle found laden in it.
All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place while the vehicle used for transporting the bovines without any permission was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR under No. 08/2019 under section 188 of RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Ghagwal police station and investigation started. |
