BDO Dachhan withdraws Rs 18 lakhs on his behalf

Jammu, Feb 1: A Dachhan youth settled in Dubai since 2015 to November 2017 and on whose name Ex Block Development Officer Bahu Ditta withdrew around Rs. 18 lakh as material cost under MGNREGA has alleged stalking and harassment for not speaking over the issue.
It all started on 12-1-2019 when Early Times highlighted the issue pertaining to open loot and corruption in Rural Development Department that has deprived the poor people of their legitimate share of money from the scheme that was introduced by the former UPA Government to uplift the poor populace of the country.
Chuni Lal Thakur Resident of Panchayat Sounder A said that he was settled in Dubai from 2007 to 2013 and return to India in 2013 before he again shifted to Dubai in August 2015 and returned back to India in November 2017 added that after returning to India, he hardly visited his native village Dachhan in far flung area of Kishtwar District for over a week and was shocked after some villagers told him that he was a material supplier under MGNREGA and an amount of around Rs. 18 lakh stand withdrawn against his name.
He said that after coming to know about the development, he began efforts to find the reality behind the claims made by some local villagers which were later found to be true by him.
He said that he was never a part of any MGNREGA scheme and was out of India during the period when an amount of around Rs 18 lakh had been withdrawn against his name.
He said that the amount has been withdrawn with the help of GRS and VLW who were later identified as Pardeep Kumar and Ashish Kumar respectively added that the BDO Dachhan during the said period has been identified as Bahu Ditta (Now retired).
He said that after speaking over the issue, he is being pressurized by the officials of the department through their friends and relatives as a result of which he is facing unnecessary harassment and stalking since the matter become public.
He is feeling threatened over the issue and has sought investigation from Anti Corruption Bureau
