Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 1: Bias and discrimination has been alleged in the selection of Rehber-e-Khel in Kishtwar district after the selection list was declared on Friday.
Many of those who had applied for these posts allege favoritism and political interference in the final selection list wherein candidates with higher qualification were dropped while the influential and blue eyed persons having political backing were selected by the three member committee headed by DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana.
Speaking to ET, the aggrieved candidate said that the selection list has been unofficially uploaded on the Social Media first, when the same was not in the knowledge of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar. Aggrieved over not finding their names in the list, some candidates approached concerned authorities for its authentication, but were told that the department has no knowledge regarding the selection list while in the evening same list was released by the officials.
It is pertinent to mention that the selection list based on a single page as Annexure-III of Zone Kishtwar is reflecting enormous discrepancies on account that the selection list reflects no educational background, points of Viva Voce and D.O.B. of the selected candidates from S. No. 1 to 23 as well as waiting list candidates in the list, which smells that the concerned authorities of Sports Department had played with the sentiments of the aspiring incumbents.
They stated that those candidates who figured in the list are either B.P.E. or B P.Ed. while as, those having acquired higher Degrees in Physical Education i.e, B.P.Ed. M.P.Ed. had been ignored. Aggrieved candidates also filed a written complaint before DC Kishtwar demanding a thorough enquiry into the matter to ascertain the wrong doings of the department.
They said that DC Kishtwar instead of listening to them asked them to leave his office. They alleged that the same is his handiwork as his allegiance with a particular party. The aggrieved candidates said that they shall be compelled to go for legal recourse against the department. The aggrieved candidate urged upon Director General Youth Services and Sports Saleem ur Rehman to order a through probe in the matter and quash the selection list which was full of ambiguities.
