NIELIT-certified Basic Training Course in Computers starts at GDC Udhampur

Udhamour, Feb 3: GDC Udhampur in collaboration with the State Council for Science and Innovations, DST Udhampur started 3 months basic training course in computer learning in which 40 students of the college from all classes and streams, who belongs to very far off areas where formal computer education is not accessible for them, got themselves registered in the said course.
Speaking on the occasion of formal inauguration of the course, District coordinator State Council for Science and Innovations, DST, Sanjay Kharu said that it is a great opportunity for the students to get free computer diploma at their door steps and his office has always remained on forefront in taking such initiatives which directly benefits the disadvantaged groups of the society .Experts from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology University of Jammu and faculty of the college shall be the resource persons for this course. Prof. G.Krishanmurthy from NIELIT Jammu presented the keynote lecture on 'Computer Education and its necessity and market value for Job Seekers'
Earlier, Prof.(Dr.)Nutan K.Resutra, Principal of the college who presided over the proceedings of the inagural event, said that a literate person without the working knowledge of computers is as good as illiterate and computer education is much beyond our expertise on playing our fingers on our mobile keypads and it is really a big opportunity for the students to get diploma in computer applications free of cost. He expressed his gratitude to the District incharge DST Udhampur and NIELIT -Jammu for starting this course here. Prof.G.R.Verma coordinator of the program presented formal vote of thanks on the occasion.
