2/4/2019 11:02:50 PM
Early Times Report
BILLAWAR, Feb 4: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted a day long tour of Billawar constituency and took stock of development works viz a viz public issues during string of public meetings held in remote areas of the constituency.
Dr Sharma during his tour of far flung remote areas visited several villages including Lahiri, Joothana, Tikri, Boura and interacted with people, citizens as well as youths of the area. During interactions, people of said areas apprised Manohar Lal Sharma about major problems of scarcity of drinking water and proper motor able roads.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma heavily criticized the previous state government and local MLA for deliberately neglecting the areas. He said during his tenure in 2013- 2014 an amount of approximately Rs 1.5-2 crores was spent for dug well each at Lahri and Joothana under water supply scheme to cater the demand of drinking water to the people of the areas but in last 5 years not even an inch of progress was made regarding the same. Same is the case with Higher Secondary School Joothana, High school Lahri, High School Boura whose sanction was made in 2014 but till now all of these are non-functional. Adding further he said it feels pain to see that 25 km long Ghati to Bala Sundri Road via Spleen Morh which was sanctioned under PMGSY in 2014 is still seeing way for getting work started.
While addressing the huge gathering at Dayalachak, Dr Sharma heavily criticized the misgovernance of BJP government due to which common masses are facing neglect and feeling deceived.
He said the previous last 4 years budget and the present budget by Honorable Governor also failed to address the burning issue of unemployment due to which youths are feeling dejected and hopeless.
