DC Poonch seeks explanation from PWD officers for media gag

MENDHAR, Feb 9: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav has sought an explanation from three PWD officers for barring the media persons to cover an event recently held at Dak Banglow in this border district.
The order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who is also the District Election Officer, to explain the reason for noncompliance. The order reads: "Whereas, vide this office communication NO: DDEO/P/2018/12121 dated 03-02-2019 you were intimated for necessary arrangements at Dak Banglow Poonch/Mendhar/ Surankote regarding EVM/VVPAT awareness and training workshop to different Government Departments/NGOS/ Media Persons". Whereas you were also intimated telephonically by Dy. District Election Officer regarding EVM/VVPAT awareness and training workshop to media persons/CSOS/NGOS at respective Dak Banglows on 06-02-2018, the order reads. "Whereas, it has been reported that for the aforementioned workshop they were not allowed in Dak Banglow Mendhar By your staff posted there which is noncompliance of the orders of undersigned". As such, before initiating disciplinary action under election laws, you are hereby directed to explain the reason of noncompliance by or before 08-02-2019 failing which it shall be assumed that you have nothing to say in your defence, the order further reads.
