Reasi, Feb 10: In its continued drive, launched against drug peddlers, Reasi police today claimed to have arrested two persons and recovered charas like substance from his possession.
Police spokesman said that yesterday a routine checking of vehicles was going on near Sulla Naka, Reasi and during the Naka checking, Incharge Sulla Naka ASI HR Sharma and his team, signalled a black Alto car bearing registration number JK20-7989 to stop from a distance, by torchflash, but the driver was driving the vehicle in speed, the policemen sensing, it might flee, closed the drop barrier and succeeded in halting the speedy vehicle.
"During checking of the vehicle a charas like substance covered in Challie was recovered from the possession of Co driver namely Anil Kumar of Geeta Nagar, Reasi who had spontaneously hidden the Challie between his legs, and in the meanwhile the person driving the vehicle started threatening the police personal by showing his camera and mike, and saying that he is a media person, so let the vehicle pass, who was later identified as Ramesh Kumar Rahul of Geeta Nagar, Reasi.
Instantly a docket was sent by ASI H R Sharma to Police Station Reasi, for registration of an FIR.
Later on it was also revealed from reliable sources that both the persons are cousin brothers, since the above said persons committed an offence under NDPS Act. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 28/2019 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Reasi and investigation has been set into motion. |
