SHEER projects resolutions on industrial status to waste management

Jammu, Feb 16: Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Founder President Society Health Environment Education Research (SHEER) and former NSS Program officer GGM Science College Jammu, has extended New Year Greeting (NYG) 2019 projecting Resolution titled 'SHEER Demands industrial status to waste management: urging intellectuals for supporting cause'.
This NYG resolution is a 48 pages document declaring waste the resource Goddess and processing from zero to energy market. The aim and objectives are to put J&K State and entire nation on global map by treating waste technologically. This document is totally scientific signifying the most favoured to least favoured option for dealing with waste involving steps such as (1) Reduce: lowering the amount of waste produced; (2) Reuse: using materials repeatedly; (3) Recycle: using materials to make new products; (4) Recovery: recovering energy from waste; and (5) disposal of safe/harmless waste in landfill. NYG 2019 brochure is pegged along with a letter addressed to Governor J&K state seeking appropriate directions as feel proper. It is also sent beyond state boundary to counterpart governors and Chief Ministers of respective states with aim that waste treatment scientifically may get attention all over country. Within the state NYG-2019 Resolution is made available to various other quarters with the purposes such as: - (a) Public Representatives to shift from broom/latrines discussing in Panchayats/Assembly/Parliament towards Industrial Status; (b) Chief Secretary, Secretaries and DCs/ for appropriate steps; and in particular (c) Commissioner/Secretary J&K Higher Education (from where u/s KS retired on 31.3.2017) with objectives as under: Rejuvenate among student-teacher the Dustbin-Waste Disposal culture in working rooms/ laboratories for the reasons that in a new session of 2013, Minister Akbar Lone on a day visited GCW Gandhinagar and exposed on TV Channels the badly polluted rooms/wash basins of Labs.
