Not a single leader attends wreath laying ceremony of brave hearts
Mainstream politicians exposed yet again

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 16: At a time when the entire country was mourning the loss of is brave hearts, who sacrificed their lives in Pulwama terror strike, mainstream politicians here were busy doing politics and issuing statements and none of them appeared at their wreath laying ceremony.
When senior officers of the security grid and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh were shouldering the coffins of slain CRPF personnel, no leader from any mainstream political party was seen on the occasion.
Netizens in particular were brimming with anger over such absence of mainstream political parties on the wreath laying ceremony in Srinagar and questions were raised that mere condemnation isn't enough. "These mainstream politicians were busy issuing statements and tweets from their cozy rooms and didn't even feel the need to shoulder the coffins of slain jawans. This is pathetic and unacceptable," said a netizen while reacting to the picture in which security Officers were shouldering the coffins of the slain CRPF personnel.
There are also questions being raised over silence being maintained by the mainstream politicians.
Interestingly on October 30, Jammu and Kashmir Governor stated that when Mehbooba Mufti was the chief minister of the state, the recruitment of militants witnessed a spike and stone pelters too found it easier to attack the security forces.
"I admit the fact that while Mehbooba Mufti was the chief minister of the state, the militant recruitment got increased and stone pelters too got away easily while pelting the stones. And what we are reaping at present is what the coalition did in the state but at that time those who were in alliance partners in the government should have reacted to the mistakes being done. Today, I am not answerable to their wrongs," Governor Malik had said in an interview then.
Meanwhile, as the elections come closer, the PDP has begun to adopt its soft approach towards the militancy and separatism in Kashmir and has been opposing any move aimed at making the separatists irrelevant in Valley.
"We have seen a very dangerous trend taking place in the state. We are seeing that mainstream politicians are echoing the words of separatists and even worst. This will lead us towards further worsening of the situation," said another netizen, adding that militants were being termed as the real stakeholders which not only boosted their morale but also legitimized their actions.
"Now is the time when we have to understand the difference between friends and foes and expose those elements who are in mainstream society singing praises for the militants and separatists," said another netizen.
