Want early removal of police from area

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 16: Angry residents of Janipur today launched a scathing attack on the Jammu & Kashmir Police and said that police is harassing them on one pretext or another. The residents said that police resorted to extreme high-handedness and beat up even the minor children in the area.
The residents said that police acted against them while they raised slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. The residents said that it is pity that the police acted against the patriots while as on the other side no First Information Report (FIR) is registered against the anti-national elements operating in Kashmir.
"The police personnel resorted to unprovoked teargas shelling in our area and hit our houses as a result our minor children got wouded inside the house. When we raised objection over the same the police said that they would not leave us and take punitive action against those who raise slogans in favour of India and the martyrs," said the residents.
The residents said that they feel insecure in presence of police personnel in their area and these police personnel should be removed from the area at the earliest. They regretted that instead of acting against the anti-national elements the Jammu & Kashmir Police is taking action against the people who are part and parcel of the country.
"Our children are extremely scared and they fear to move out in presence of police personnel. It is better that Jammu & Kashmir Police is divested of the duties and instead of army is deployed in our area. The Governor administration should also take note of the same so that justice is delivered," said the residents.
