RTI seeking personal info about Pulwama villagers rejected

Pulwama, Mar 2: A Right to Information (RTI) application seeking personal information of villagers in Pulwama district has been rejected by the State Information Commission (SIC) by upholding the order of Public Information Officer i.e Tehsildar Pulwama.
The information seeker had sought details of villagers, their life style, name of each family head, occupation, land details , apple orchard details etc under RTI Act.
The information was denied by the PIO/ Tehsildar concerned which prompted the RTI applicant to file 1st appeal before DC Pulwama and then 2nd appeal before SIC.
Details available with Early Times reveal that one Syed Mohammad Yaseen R/O Puchal Pulwama filed an RTI application before the Deputy Commissioner office Pulwama seeking absurd information mentionex as under : Name of family head of each family in village Qasim Abad, Halqa Lajura Tehsil and District Pulwama. Number of family members of each household, number of employees in each household, details about traders / teachers/ lecturers / businessmen/transporters/contractors in each household, land holding, orchards, irrigation lands, location of land in respect of each family , source of income of each family, life style of members of each family, residential houses of inhabitants of the village outside the village etc.
The PIO in the office of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama transferred the RTI application to Tehsildar Pulwama (PIO in Tehsil office) on 20.09.2018 under Section 6(3) of the J&K RTI Act for providing the requisite information to the information seeker. Tehsildar rejected the RTI application and information seeker filed first appeal before the First Appellate Authority (FAA) ie Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama on 26.10.2018 submitting therein that no information has been furnished to him by the Tehsildar Pulwama the designated PIO under RTI law.
The FAA / DC Pulwama disposed of the First Appeal vide his order dated 05.11.2018 dismissing the appeal on the ground that the information sought by him is not available and hence cannot be provided.
The appellant filed 2nd appeal before the SIC but it was turned down.
