NC Leader, former IAS officer demand peace prize for Imran Khan | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report anantnag, Mar 2: National Conference leader and a former IAS officer turned politician on Saturday praised Pakistan Prime Imran Khan and said that he deserves Nobel Peace Prize for de-escalating tension on borders. Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, who is close aide of Party Vice-President Omar Abdullah and heads National Conference south zone (South Kashmir), said that Khan must be selected for Nobel Peace Prize. "He avoided an imminent war between the two countries which could have had a devastating effect. So people like him (Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan) should be elected for the Peace Prize," JKNC Leader Dr Veeri told Early Times. Veeri, former legislator, claimed that he was watching him personally and by releasing the Wing Commander without setting conditions he was proved himself statesman of South Asia. Former IAS turned politician, Shah Faesal, also praised Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that he 'deserves' peace prize. "Imran Khan deserves Nobel Peace Prize for saving South Asia from a nuclear catastrophe. His conduct during this entire India-Pak crisis has been exemplary and he has raised the bar for leadership in the region. A Nobel Peace Prize will encourage him to continue with his peace mission and help other nations in the neighborhood," Shah Faesal wrote on his Facebook page. A resolution was submitted in Pakistan Parliament on Saturday to endorse Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize due to his efforts to de-escalate resent tension with India. Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry Saturday submitted the resolution in the secretariat of National Assembly, the lower house. However an analyst dismissed the release of Abhinandan being a peace gesture and suggested that it was mandated under the Geneva Conventions. |
