Forced to work in J&K, Azad starts his schemes in state politics | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 2: Although there is uncertainty about date of assembly elections in J&K, leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has started his 'schemes' in the state to accommodate his loyalists. Joining of former Deputy Speaker of Assembly Haider Malik and Devinder Singh Bindu is an indication that Azad is going to play his game in J&K ahead of assembly polls. Credible sources said by inducting both the leaders into party fold, Azad has shown his strength to Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir. And secondly, Azad is going to project his loyalists on different assembly segments to counter claims of Mir's loyalists. Haider Malik is former MLA from Bani where Rajnesh Sharma, son of late Mangat Ram Sharma is working for the last so many years. "Now Haider Malik will stake his claim on Bani assembly seat and Rajnesh Sharma, alias Mian will find it difficult to get mandate", sources and, revealing, "Main is close confident of Mir and is looking after finance of PCC". Credible sources said that before formally plunged into state politics, Azad will first make it sure to adjust his loyalists on all most all Assembly segments to emerge as leader in case of party win good number of seats. Credible sources said that Congress high command has directed Azad to work in J&K like other senior leaders namely Kamal Nath, who is now chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and Ashok Gehlot, who is Chief Minister of Rajasthan. "It is all due to pressure of the high command that Azad has started work in J&K but with a mission to adjust his own loyalists on assembly seats". |
