Early Times Report
reasi, Mar 4: Ever since the District Development Commissioner Reasi has ordered inquiry into the allegations of corruption against Patwari Pouni, the senior officials in the Revenue Department Sunderbani have allegedly been making all efforts to save their junior which clearly indicates at deep nexus within the department.
Assistance Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Reasi was directed to probe allegations of corruption against Patwari Pouni Sanjeev Kumar for demanding Rs 2000 for issuing certified copy of land record from a poor family through Lambardar Riyala, who is also said to be hand in glove with the alleged Patwari.
"The allegations were leveled against the Patwari and Lambardar on the basis of audio recording but the inquiry official has been raising question on the authenticity of audio. The officials should have confirmed the mobile numbers used in conversation but instead he has been saying asking the victim to prove it," they said further adding that by saying so, inquiry official has been ridiculing the probe and harassing the victims in order to withdraw the complaints.
"The call was made by the victim from the mobile number (9419164239) to Lambardar Riayal on his mobile number (9622028708) and the recording of the conversation is available with victim, which was later submitted to ACR but shockingly the inquiry officer has been expressing doubt," they said. It has been learnt that Patwari is so influential that he has been publically saying that such inquiry can't make any damage to him.
It is pertinent to mention that a similar case had taken place in Tehsil Pouni in 2017 wherein the then Patwari took bribe from a woman for issuing certified copy of land record and the then DDC Reasi Ravinder Kumar took strict action and suspended the Patwari and ordered inquiry. People of the area urged the Governor to intervene and demanded that FIR should be registered against the Lamberdar Riyal and Patwari Pouni.
