Early Times Report

BILLAWAR, Mar 5: Former Minister and President District Congress Comittee Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today launched "Chalo Panchayat Abhiyan" at Mandli panchayat in Billawar assembly constituency. On the occasion, Dr Sharma also interacted with a delegation of youth of the area.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma said that the main aim of this programme is to listen to the grievances of people living in various panchayats of the state and to connect with the youths and the farmers. While interacting with public and party cadre, Dr Sharma termed the previous tenure of BJP-PDP government in the state as a black chapter and further criticized BJP for totally neglecting Kathua district on all fronts. He said BJP has old practice of promising high among the people before elections and once they come to power they make u-turns on their pre-poll promises but said this time people have understood it completely and will give befitting reply to the BJP in upcoming elections. Also during the interaction, Dr Sharma instructed party cadre to highlight the achievement of UPA-1 and UPA-2 among the masses and also unmask the failures and hollow promises by BJP. He further instructed the party cadre to strengthen the party at booth level. Others present were Sumit Verma, Vipul Sharma, Anirudh Khajuria, Dimple Verma, Dalbir Sethi, Surinder Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Kuldeep Kumar.
