17 yrs on, JKPCC fails to construct Dunadi- Bunjwah road | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Mar 5: The people of Bunjwah area of Kishtwar have rued the delay in construction of road from Dunadi to Noor Bunjwah by JKPCC. The work on the road was taken up 17 years ago in 2002, but it is yet to be completed. People travelling on this 13 km road stretch face a lot of problems. The people of Bunjwah and its adjoining areas have taken up the matter with successive Deputy Commissioners of Kishtwar and apprised them about the slow pace of work by JKPCC on Dunadi-Bunjwah road without results. "We have urged JKPCC to start the widening work before commencement of the agriculture season. Any delay in this regard will lead to damage of crops," said the local inhabitants, further added that time was ripe to carry out the work as winter season is about to end in next few weeks. They said that though the concerned DC's from time to time took up the matter with JKPCC executive engineer and directed him to carry out road widening on priority basis but nothing has been done till date. The people have now pinned hopes on the governor administration. "We expect the administration headed by the Governor to complete the road," they said. |
