JAMMU, Mar 8: Farmers Training Centre, Jammu organized one day Farmers Training Camp at Rajpura Koular Panchyat of Samba District which was attended by a large number of farmers.
The programme was conducted under the directions and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu P. S. Rathore, KAS and Deputy Director Agriculture (Trainings) Jammu Sunil Koul. Speaking on the occasion Agriculture Information Officer, Jammu J. C. Raina asked the farmers to avail the benefits of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) to meet out the expenses to raise the crops and also to get their crops insured under newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). He advised the farmers to use the vermi-composting technology and go for round the year vegetable cultivation to get more returns being located near the suburbs of Jammu. Ashok Gupta, Dy Project Director, ATMA stressed on doubling farm income through value addition of agri-products, diversification of agriculture through organic vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation and growing of marigold and cut flowers. RK Mathu, Demonstrator (FTC) and. Anju Shalla, Agriculture Extension Officer, Jakh exhorted upon the farmers to avail the benefits of various farmers welfare schemes including Apiculture Development, Soil Health Cards Scheme (SCHS) and Sub-Mission on Machinery (SMAM). S Avtar Singh, AEO Mushrooms gave a detailed lecture on the cultivation of Dhingri and Button Mushrooms.
Sarpanch Rajpura Koular Panchyat Sher Mohammad on the ocasion thanked the Agriculture Department for organizing the programme. Gulzar Hussain, AEA, Koushal Singh Jamwal, AEA, Sudesh Kumar, Naib-Sarpanch and Panchs of Rajpura Koular Panchyat also attended the training camp. Small Hand Tools, Refreshments and literature on various schemes and programmes for the awareness of the farmers was also distributed on the occasion.
