Jammu, Mar 13: Three days 17th State Athletics Championship concluded here at University ground today. About 350 Athletes from Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Anantnag, Baramula, Srinagar and Reasi took part in the Championship.
Medals, Mementoes and Certificates were distributed by Danesh Rana, IPS Inspector General of Police, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dushyant Sharma, President J&K Olympic Association and Tejinder Singh-IPS, SSP Jammu to the participants. Prof. Ashutosh Sharma briefed the officials and members about the activities of the J&K Athletics Association.
Danesh Rana-IPS Inspector General of Police addressed the gathering which served as an incentive to the participants. Results of the Championships enclosed. During the three days Athletic Championship, Shot Put, Long Jump, Discuss Throw, Javelin Throw, 10,000 Meter, 1500 Meter, 400 Meter and 100 Meter event was held in Men's category.
While in Women's category Shot Put, Long Jump, Discuss Throw, 400 Meter and 800 Meter event was held. Vinod Bhatia Secretary J&K Yoga Association, S. P.D Singh, Sh. Jai Bharat, Sh. Chamail Singh, Nirmolak Singh, Sarbjit Singh, Tarsem Sharma, J&K Rope Skipping, S.
