Jammu, Mar 18: A free medical camp for eye, general health, orthopaedic and dental check up was organised on Sunday March 17th at village Aithem by We Care Welfare Society (WCWS) in association with Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla, Jammu. Many families, men, women , children , young and old, from near & far off places of many villages , turned up for medical check up. Especially, lot of patients, old women and aged men, came for eye check up and some of them screened out for cataract operation. These patients were registered and advised for further treatment at the hospital. People demanded to hold another camp, exclusively for eye check up. Free medicines & spectacles were provided to the patients. Also blood sugar and BP tests were conducted for the benefit of patients. Whole team of doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital, attended the camp. Drs M. L Gupta Sr Physician Specialist, Debapriya Chatterjee Opthalmologist, Vias Dev, Sr Consultant Orthopaedic GMC, & Ajit Pal Singh, Parul Choudhury, Sagrika & Bazilla, Dental Surgeons, attended camp as consulting doctors. Other doctors, administrators, paramedical staff of the hospital extended support & help in arranging this camp. Dr Romesh Gupta, Hospital Administrator, Atma Saroop Gupta Gen Secretary, B S Jamwal Member, Shankar Dutt Sharma, Member, Pawan Sharma Liaison officer, Shakuntla ANM, Isha Ophthalmic technician, and other supporting staff Tara Chand, Man Singh, Rattan Singh, Kesru, & Ravinder Kangla participated in the programme.
Prof M Sadiq Nargal, Chairman 'We Care Welfare Society ' thanked Sarpanch Shobha Devi, her husband Chander Shekher, VicRomale Sarpanch Singh of the village , who worked very hard and made eloborate arrangements for this event ,with the help of other villagers . Tea, snacks and simple dogri meals were served.
