PHE casual, CP workers' disheartened over pending demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 18: Casual and CP workers, daily wagers serving in the PHE Department held protest today over the pending issues. The protest was attended by employees hailing from across the Jammu and Kashmir. One of the workers said that we have been engaged from time to time, during the last over two decades, by the department for smooth functioning and regular supply of drinking water to the public at large in the entire J&K state and we served the department as also the public with great enthusiasm, full devotion and dedication. But with dismay we have to state that all the Political Parties, whichever headed the Government, always played with our career and lives by not fulfilling our genuine demands of regularising our services and releasing our earned wages well in time. He added "Our representations and verbal requests have yielded no positive results and we have deliberately been left in a state of helplessness-because of non releasing; payment o our pending earned wages for about 55 months". He added that under these compelling circumstances, most of our school going children had to face drop out due to non payment of school fees, non availability of study books, stationery items, uniforms The Government and the department never bothered to release our wages even on the occasion of festivals. Such type of highhandedness coupled with negative and callous approach adopted by the authorities at the helm of affairs towards the dedicated workers by withholding the wages for months and years together in unfortunate and dismaying. He further said that as the J&K state is presently being governed under presidential Rule and thus its affairs are directly dealt with and monitored by the central government under your kind control. We the workers through our Association President Tanveer Hussain, pray your nobleness to kindly look into our prolonged genuine demands for passing appropriate directions orders for our regularisation and payment pending wages for about 55 months and further regular monthly payment. So, that we get rid of all these hardships agonies and financial hardships.
