J&KAACL organises seminar at Banihal | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Mar 18: A two-day seminar organized to promote Kashmiri Language and Culture commenced today here at Government Degree College, Banihal. The event was organised by the Sahitya Akademi New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (J&KAACL). The final session was presided by the Secretary Culture J&KAACL Dr. Aziz Hajjani. In his address Dr. Aziz Hajjani underlined the importance of culture and heritage adding that it is the duty of the young generation to preserve it. He congratulated administration of Banihal College for organizing a successful seminar on a vital topic. He further informed that during the day long discussion various problem of Kashmiri language have been highlighted and their resolutions were also suggested by the speakers. He stressed on introduction of Kashmiri language in schools and colleges of Chenab Valley. He appealed the young generation to speak mother tongue in their day to day affairs so that the language could flourish. He offered his full support to the colleges of district for organizing literary events. Earlier, the inaugural session of the Seminar was presided over by the Principal of host college Mushtaq Ahmed Sohil, while representative of Sahitya Akademi, Ajay Sharma, Manshoor Banihali, Prof. Shad Ramzan, Shabir Ahmed Shabir, Zarif Ahmed Zarif, Zahir Banihali, Gohar Banihali, Dilfagar Banihali, Shaker Shafi, AK Shams, Mohidin Ajiz and various other prominent poets and linguists from Kashmir valley were also present. |
