Jammu, Mar 20: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized an Industrial visit for MBA students to Jai Beverages Pvt. Limited and Shalimar Floorings Private Limited. The objective of the educational Industrial visit was to provide students an insight regarding internal working of industry and practical learning in a real-working environment. TS Bedi, Executive Vice President, Operations, Jai Beverages Private Limited briefed the students that Jai Beverages is one of the leading manufacturers from Jammu Region in soft drinks, mango juice, mix fruit juice and drinking items. After the brief presentation, the students were taken for a plant visit showcasing the various processes involved in the manufacturing and filling of carbonated beverages that include processing, filling lines, bottling, packaging and warehouse. Rakesh Bhat, Director, Shalimar Floorings Private Limited gave tips to the students that the company is practicing which is partnering long term with its customers by providing them best quality and service and that too by following the highest social and ethical standards. The production team gave a brief presentation about the plant that include whole process in making mats, carpets and rugs which involved cutting, trimming, fabricating and packing. They further explained the shipping and exporting of these products. After visiting the factory the company gave the students the privilege to visit the showroom which is not always open to the general public. Appreciating the efforts of CII, Prof. B C Sharma, Dean - Internship & Placements, MIET College said, visiting the real life environment provides students a better understanding of the practical work field. Students get a very clear idea about the working structure like plant operations capacity during lean and peak seasons, quality control practices, sales and marketing strategies, supply chain and logistics management and HR practices. |
