BJP appoints one more Chowkidar?
Farooq Khan's wife gets post of ARBF Director

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 21: Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed one more 'Chowkidar' by awarding coveted post of Director of Asian Roll Ball Federation [ARBF] to Ruchi Chouhan Khan wife of retired IPS officer and National Secretary of BJP Farooq Khan, who is the incumbent administrator of Lakshadweep.
An analyst said that only qualification for Ruchi Chouhan Khan for the post of ARBF Director is that she is the wife of Khan. "I don't think people expect their Chowkidars to appoint the politically connected persons at the posts, which are meant for deserving candidates," he added.
"When Farooq Khan was in service he was considered very close to the National Conference president and then chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr Farooq Abdullah," the analyst claimed.
He alleged that when NC-led government was in trouble in
"As a police officer Farooq Khan assisted NC leaders to do chowkidari and helped them in every possible way."
2000 after the massacre of 35 Sikhs at Chattisinghpora in south Kashmir, Khan had played a vital role by strategizing an operation to kill the foreign terrorists at Pathribal responsible for the massacre. "The five killed terrorists later turned out to be civilians. But it helped the NC government at that point of time," he added.
The probes which were conducted later to ascertain the facts gave clean chit to Khan and he sailed through. "As a police officer Khan assisted NC leaders to do chowkidari and helped them in every possible way. His services were lauded by the NC leaders and they still enjoy cordial relations with him."
A politician said, "Close proximity between Khan and NC leaders was known to all and it's no secret. He even helped NC win elections and ensured that the grand old party of Kashmir doesn't become irrelevant."
