Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru remembered across Jammu

Jammu, Mar 23: Various social and political organizations remembered three Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and paid rich tribute to them for their struggle for freedom Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Committee remembered the three Martyrs of Motherland Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and paid rich tribute to them for their struggle for freedom. The Great revolutionaries, freedom fighters and the heroes of young generation, who were hanged on March 23, 1931 in Lahore Jail. In this regard a programme seminar was organized at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Jee Complex Chand Nagar, Jammu under the leadership of Comrade Sukhdev Singh Convener of the Committee in which senior trade union leaders, Prominent Citizens attended the function and shared their views. On the occasion Comrade Sukhdev Singh said we salute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day and salute to their indomitable valour and patriotism that inspires generations. In the prime of their youth, these 3 brave men sacrificed their lives so that generations after them can breathe the air of freedom in India. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were sentenced to death in the Lahore conspiracy case and ordered to be hanged on March 24, 1931. The schedule was moved forward by 11 hours and the three were hanged on March 23, 1931 at 7:30 pm in the Lahore jail. He further said that no magistrate at the time was willing to supervise Singh's hanging as was required by law. The execution was supervised instead by an honorary judge, who also signed the three death warrants, as their original warrants had expired. The jail authorities then broke a hole in the rear wall of the jail, removed the bodies, and secretly cremated the three men under cover of darkness outside Ganda Singh Wala village, and then threw the ashes into the Sutlej river, about 10 kilometres from Ferozepore.
Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu paid tributes to the famous trio Martyres Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev. On the occasion Balwinder Singh Rinku President said that we should never forget the contribution of our martyres in the freedom struggle and that we own our independence to their supreme sacrifice. A.S.Khera Advocate Chairman said that the youth today must take inspiration from the martyred trio and inculcate the properties like patriotism dedication to work socialism cooperation and community service and resistant from evil activities like taking drugs troubling others for fun or otherwise or from any antisocial activities.
SS Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi, all the members of the Civil Society, prominent citizens paid rich tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Ji and Shaheed Raj Guru Ji on their Martyr's Day- today, who were hanged to death on March 23, 1931 as per the British Court order for their subversive activities. After execution in Lahore jail, the bodies of all the three martyrs were brought in secrecy at Hussainiwalla, in Ferozepur District of Punjab in India and cremated unceremoniously . Every year on 23rd March, Martyrs day (Shahedi Diwas) is observed remembering these three revolutionaries. All the three revolutionaries Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Ji and Shaheed Raj Guru Ji of Indian Nationalist Movement were the prominent in the Indian freedom struggle. They still continue to be youth's icon in today's time. Their patriotism was not only restricted to the strong violent outburst against the Britishers, they rather had a mind intellect of a genius who could foresee division of India on communal lines which many other leaders of their time were unable to see. They struggled a lot for achieving the freedom, which will be remembered forever.
In order to remember the martyrdom's of the freedom fighters of India during British rule, martyrdom of Shahed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was also observed at Vijaypur in district Samba at par with other parts of country. The programme was organised by congress sevadal Samba district president Raj Kumar Bhagat in which state chief congress sevadal Rajesh Sadotra was chief guest alongwith state chief Mahila wing Tamanna and other activists from congress sevadal who all were paid floral tributes to these freedom fighters and highlighted on their martyrdom for the freedom of India and hope that new generation will adopt the path shown by our freedom fighters who given us the right of living with freedom in whole of society.
To commemorate the 88th Martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Aazm Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, the State Unit of All India Lawyers' Union organised meeting in which lawyers and other citizens participated. Hari Chand Jalmeria advocate State President of AILU, said that Bhagat Singh and his colleagues were fighting not only for freedom of India from colonial rule of Britishers but also for establishing socialist system after freedom. They wanted India where no one would exploit the other and there would be no unemployment, no economic inequality. India would be secular, united and strong. But after 1947, the reality came to be otherwise. The prime sacrifice given by Bhagat Singh and his colleagues, though ultimately resulted into freedom but India could not remain united and split into three units due to communal politics pursued by a section of Indian leadership in 1947 and economic equality, employment for all became distant dreams. The imperialist forces made use of the situation, they encouraged divisive, capitalist and jingoistic forces. There is need to carry forward the ideology pursued and the struggle launched by Bhagat Singh and his colleagues, stressed Jalmeria.
To remember the Martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru, the J&K Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Saturday held a function at Dogra Shourya Sthal, Amphalla, here. The function was organized by Ved Gandotra, the Chairman of the Association in the presence of Vice Chairman Rajiv Mahajan and President R.C Suri and others. Floral tributes were paid to the Martyrs with garlanding of their portraits amidst reciting of National Anthem. Speaking on the occasion, the members threw light over the life history of the Martyrs and said that it was their sacrifices that we were living in the free India. They also said that the Nation cannot forget their Supreme Sacrifice and they would always remain in our hearts. The members exhorted the youth of the country to follow the path shown by the freedom fighters and the Martyr and don't fall victim to the petty politicians of today, who were hell bent to lead the youth towards destruction.
To observe the Marty's Day- "Shaheedi Diwas" as well as to promote the traditional folk cultural of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged 253rd Saturday Series Musical Play "BASANTI CHOLA ".
The programme was organized in collaboration Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of computer education at open air theatre , Durga Bhawan , Janipur , Jammu the play dedicated to the Nation Remembers Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Every year, 23 March is "Shaheedi Diwas" in the memories of three freedom- Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev and the three freedom fighter, were hanged to death on this day in Lahore Central Jail in 1931.
The function was inaugurated after lighting the Traditional Lamp and paid tribute to the freedom fighters Chief Guest Dr.Tara Singh Charak , Former Deputy Director ,Health Department, J&K Government, Dr. Anupriya Sharma, President Medical Cell J&K , V.K.Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India and Dr. Anju Dogra from Health Department, J&K Government were the Guests of Honor.
