JAMMU, Mar 25: A awareness programme organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation regarding cleanliness drive of all water bodies Rivers, Pounds, Nallahs, Breaches, River banks for the month of March 2019, in collaboration with Irrigation Department and Ravi Tawi Irrigation Complex, Jammu.
The shopkeepers and waste material collector were advised not to throw any type of waste material organic/inorganic in the river bodies. A meeting with various Mandir Committees held in the premises of Mandirs where they were told not to throw flowers and polythene in the water bodies as it creates filth in the canal. The members promised to share the Swachh Bharat mission to all other people usually visits Mandir. Peoples gathered at Jain Nagar, Talab Tillo, Camp Gole Gujral road. The people of the locality Sanjeev Sharma, Pritam Lal Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Harvinder Singh, Mahinder Singh expressed their views frequently regarding the minor liquid waste water carrier drain are merging with the canal. They said that before 15 years from now people use to take bath and drink water of the canal. They expressed that last years no cleanliness drive was made in the canal which is really shocking.
In another camp at Jaswant Plaza, Naresh Kumar Gupta with Shakti Singh, Surinder Singh and Harsh Sharma stated that they have installed board depicting instructions farbiding people to throw garbage in canal but people take away the boards even, they said a strict action against the accused is required mean fine must be charged. |
