Lal Singh accuses Delhi based parties of dividing Dogras | `Nobody can divide Jammu people, we are united' | | Arun Jasrotia Early Times Report
Udhampur, Apr 8: In his election campaign at Udhampur , former minister and founder Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan, Ch Lal Singh today appealed to the people of Udhampur to show their Dogra strength. Addressing a huge public meeting here Monday, Singh said that this is for the first time that a Dogra candidate on the Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan is contesting the elections on both the seats of Jammu. He appealed people of both the constituencies to vote for the Dogra candidates so that discrimination against the region can be highlighted in the Parliament. The former Forest Minister said that since decades Dogra have been cheated by the various political parties like Congress, PDP, NC and others that were in power but no one heard the voice of Jammu. Singh also slammed all parties trying to create a wedge between various communities in the name of religion. "Delhi based parties created an atmosphere of divide and rule and it is not the first time they are propagating hate, but our Dogras which Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs maintained peace and communal harmony," he said. He said communal harmony is witnessed in Katra where hundreds of Puthu's Palikiwalas , Pony walas belong to Muslim Community but they help devotees and this is where the beauty of Jammu lies. "We are united and nobody can break us," he made clear. Singh said that no party whether national or local are sincere to Jammu. "All parties focus on Kashmir. Jammu Dogra's pay bills, taxes but eighty percent jobs go to Kashmir and only 20 percent to Jammu," he said.. Singh said there was no concept oh Hinu -Muslim in pre-partition era. "It was created with a purpose," he said adding the PDP and its coalition partner tried to break the unity of Jammu by raising Hindu-Muslim issues. |
