State administration acts as subservient of BJP: DSS

Jammu, Apr 10: Fearing defeat in Jammu division in upcoming Lok Sabha elections the BJP is violating model code of conduct (MCC) alleged agitating supporters of Choudhary Lal Singh, who has been detained by Police while he was on his way to Kishtwar, where militants on yesterday killed an RSS leader.
Over five dozens supports of Dogra Swabhimaan Sangthan (DSS), who were busy in campaign for its Chief, Choudhary Lal Singh assembled outside Divisional Commissioner Jammu's office this afternoon, as news of detention of Singh spread.
The angered supporters sat at the entrance of Div Com office and shouted slogan against BJP and Deputy Commissioner, who directed police to detain Choudhary Lal Singh. "The administration is acting like subservient of BJP, and preventing our leader from going to Kishtwar to pay respect to martyr Chanderkant Sharma", said the agitating leaders.
"Former Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh flew to Kishtwar, other BJP leaders including State President Ravinder Raina and former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta and Speaker Dr Nirmal Singh and other leaders under huge security cover were allowed to go to Kishtwar", they said and added that act of administration shows that state administration has turned subservient of BJP.
The DSS chief and candidate for Jammu-Poonch and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats, Choudhary Lal Singh, was Wednesday detained with supporters en route to Kishtwar. The former minister was detained in Assar area of the Doda district, the officials said. Singh is contesting from both Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha constituencies as candidate of the DSS, which was floated by him last year after resigning as BJP minister over Rasana rape and murder case.
Singh told media from Doda that he was detained for over six hours and was not offered anything to eat. Singh alleged that the restrictions are only for him and BJP candidate and its leaders had been allowed to move to Kishtwar to take part in the cremation of the slain leader. "I am a candidate and have the right to take part in the cremation of a leader. I am deliberately being stopped", he said. Meanwhile, DC Doda, Doifode Sagar Dattatray said Singh has not been arrested but not allowed to move to Kishtwar in view of the curfew.
