| Vishal Club, Simula Club register win in 6th Baisakhi Cricket Cup | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 11: Vishal Cricket Club and Simula Cricket Club registered great wins against their opponents and entered in the semis in the ongoing 6th Baisakhi Cricket Cup which is being organized by Vishal Cricket Club in collaboration with Police Department at Parade Ground Jammu. The slogan of the tournament is "let's celebrate Baisakhi with Love and Joy through T20 Cricket" and the objective is to save the young generation from the drugs abuse, to promote sports culture and to provide them a platform so that their energy can be channelized in a right direction and they can live a healthy life. In today's matches Rodney Jones ECB Coach was the Chief Guest who accompanied with Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club and Rakesh Koul was introduced with the participating teams.
Earlier in the first match Vishal Cricket Club defeated Green Field Club by 54 runs. Batting first Vishal Cricket Club scored 153 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Jagteshwer 40 runs, Lakhan 35 runs and Rajesh Gill unbeaten 27 runs were the main scorers. From the bowling side Rahul took 2 wickets while Jasbir took 1 wicket. In reply Green Belt Club could not chase the target and managed to score 99 runs for the loss of all wickets in 19.2 overs thus lost the match by 54 runs.
In second match Simula Club defeated Singh Club Akhnoor by 3 wickets. Batting first Singh club Akhnoor scored 114 runs for all in 19.4 overs. In reply Simula Club chased the target in 17.1 over by losing 7 wickets thus won the match by 3 wickets, Satish 22 runs, Akash 21 runs and Puneet 19 runs were the main scorers. |
