Mahagathbandhan like a magic wand in Bihar: Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha
4/12/2019 10:08:24 PM

Patna Saheb
Actor-turned-politician and Congress's new entrant Shatrughan Sinha is confident of winning the Lok Sabha elections from the Patna Saheb parliamentary constituency for the third time in a row. Shatrughan Sinha said that his margin of victory will be bigger than what it was in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Shatrughan Sinha, who recently joined Congress, is pitted against Union Law Minister and BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad in Patna Saheb parliamentary constituency.

Shatrughan Sinha, who arrived in Patna on Friday for the first time after joining the Grand Old Party, said that Ravi Shankar Prasad was his family friend but he was sure of defeating him.

"In 2014, I won from the Patna Saheb constituency with record margin. In democracy, everyone is entitled to fight the elections and my best wishes are with Ravi Shankar Prasad," Shatrughan Sinha said.

Shatrughan Sinha also said, "This is not a personal battle but I am sure this time, a new record will be set as far as my win from Patna Saheb is concerned."

Shatrughan Sinha was also optimistic about the performance of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls and said that the alliance of the six parties will give an unexpected result.

The parties which are part of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar include Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Communist Party of India (MarxistLeninist) Liberation [CPI(ML)].

"Mahagathbandhan is looking like a "jadu ki chadi" in Bihar presently," Shatrughan Sinha said while praising the alliance.

Shatrughan Sinha, who is also known as Shotgun, also addressed the friction going on in RJD chief Lalu Prasad's family, especially the cold war between his two sons, Tej Pratap and Tejaswi Yadav,

Shatrughan Sinha said that he was hopeful that the differences in Lalu Prasad's family will be resolved soon.

"All the family differences in Lalu family will be resolved. He is like a family friend and rift takes place in all families but the issues will be resolved and I need not speak more on this," Shatrughan Sinha said.

On the issue of controversy triggered over the educational qualification of Union Minister and BJP candidate from Amethi Smriti Irani, Shatrughan Sinha laughed and wished her well for the elections.
