Funeral for militants, not for patriots under BJP rule
4/13/2019 12:50:03 AM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 12: In a major setback to nationalist forces and nationalism under BJP rule, the funeral of the militants across the Kashmir valley were allowed by the authorities including both police and local administration, but there is no permission to the people to participate in the funeral of patriots like late BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar, his brother Ajeet Parihar killed by the militants on November 1, 2018.
When people of Kishtwar were denied an opportunity to participate in the cremation of these two brothers who fell prey to militant bullets while the authorities at the helm of the affair in Kishtwar and Doda District this also repeated the same thing what they did during the killings of Parihar brothers and this time it was RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, a patriot required no introduction.
To the surprise of many people who wanted to participate in the funeral of the late RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Kumar, they were stopped by the authorities not only in Kishtwar District, but also the District Administration Doda did not allow the people to move towards Kishtwar so that they could participate in the last rites.
It was not only common people who were stopped by the authorities, two former ministers including Chowdhary Lal Singh and Shakti Raj Parihar who were stopped by none other than the team headed by DC Doda and SSP Doda triggering massive protests at Pul Doda following which two time Member Parliament Chowdhary Lal Singh was even arrested.
The shameful behavior of not only that of Doda administration was condemnable, but District Administration Kishtwar under the leadership BJP's close henchmen Angrez Singh Rana (DC Kishtwar) was not different to what Doda administration did with the patriotic Indians who simply want to participate in the last rites of a nationalist person who was killed by the militants in broad day light under the close nose of Kishtwar police with the weapon snatched from the PSO of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
The District administration Kishtwar used all possible means to stop the people from participating into the last rites of late RSS leader and even use force in the form of teargas shelling, aerial firing, lathi charge which was retailed by the mourners with stones in which several people though received injuries, but no one report to any medical center fearing action from the police and administration.
The approach used by the BJP in dealing the Kishtwar situation where people were denied permission to participate in the funeral of a nationalist person which is contrary to the tall claims of BJP's nationalist image. And it is under BJP regime, huge funerals of militants were allowed across the Kashmir valley and every such funeral was followed by heavy stone pelting in which hundreds of people as well as security personals got injured. This dichotomy itself puts a question mark on the state government functioning presently under the direct control of BJP.
