Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 20: Over a dozen teachers as well as a senior official of School Education department were found attending political rallies in district Kathua before the conclusion of second phase of parliamentary elections.
According to sources, several teachers including some master grade level had attended the political rallies organised by different political parties to canvas support for their candidates for Udhampur-Kathua parliamentary seat. "Showing utter disregard to Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines, these teachers showed open support to their favourite political parties by attending their rallies", a teacher informed, adding that the teachers were so bold that they even uploaded their photographs on the social networking sites, while attending political rallies.
Sources further disclosed that a senior official of Education department of the level of Principal was found attending a political rally in Kathua city. "She was found sitting just near the main stage, in a back row", a teacher said, adding that to evade public glare, she was found wearing goggles.
The same Principal level officer was so influential that she had managed her return to Kathua city after remaining absent in her duties when she was shifted out of Kathua city.
"For the last many years, she had been managing her stay to Kathua city by using her political influence. The same level officer had even misguided the Directorate of School Education for getting her posting back to Kathua city", sources said, adding that she had attended the political rally of the politician, who had been helping her to get her postings in Kathua city.
"Many government employees have been sharing the political propaganda of their favourite political leaders on social networking sites but authorities have failed to take concrete action", sources said, adding that stringent actions as per rules must be taken against the involved officials.
