Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: Reports about the so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik's failing health have perturbed the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the President of Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti, she has sought his immediate release.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It seems Mehbooba Mufti has forgotten that Yasin Malik was a terrorist, who was charged with the killing of unarmed Indian Air Force personnel on Srinagar outskirts in early nineties. He was also involved in the killing of innocent Kashmiri Pandits and other terror related activities."
He said on one hand Mehbooba has condemned the blasts in Sri Lanka and has called the perpetrators as terrorists. "There is no doubt about the fact that the persons who carried out blasts in Sri Lanka and killed 215 people are terrorists and need to be brought to back. Similarly Yasin Malik is also a terrorist, who is facing murder charges of IAF personnel," the analyst said.
He said, "Mehbooba should come clear on the definition of a terrorist. The terrorist is a person who kills innocents either in Sri Lanka and the one who killed Kashmiri Pandits, and IAF men in Kashmir. There cannot be a good terrorist or a bad terrorist. All terrorists sail in the same boat."
He said that Mehbooba Mufti is feeling the pain of Yasin Malik and his family members. "Despite being in politics for the past three decades she has never felt the pain of Kashmiri Pandits, who were killed by the JKLF terrorists in broad daylight in early nineties in the Valley. These terrorists unleashed so much of terror that they forced the Kashmiri Pandits to migrate from the Valley," the analyst added.
He said that when Mehbooba Mufti was the Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir she "sabotaged" the proposal to build a separate colony for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. "At that point of time Yasin Malik and others threatened agitation. They even involved the terror outfits in the act and got the threats issued by them. They (terrorists) even threatened to blow up the proposed colonies for Kashmiri Pandits," the analyst added.
A Kashmir watcher said that Yasin Malik at the behest of his bosses sitting in Pakistan took entire Kashmir hostage in 2016, when Mehbooba was the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. His (Malik's) henchmen organised street protests and stone-pelting across the Valley. "It seems Mehbooba has forgotten everything and is leaving no opportunity to plead the case of a terrorist turned so-called leader. Mehbooba needs to be reminded the JKLF was involved in the abduction of her own sister Rubiya Sayeed."
He said that Mehbooba should mend her ways and talk like a mainstream politician rather than projecting herself as the spokesperson of terrorists and separatists in Kashmir.
