Twinkle Khanna replies to Modi's saara gussa remark: Not only does PM know I exist, he reads my work too

When Akshay Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a candid conversation on Wednesday morning, PM Modi told Khiladi Kumar that his wife Twinkle Khanna often lashes out at him on Twitter. Soon, Mrs Funnybones took to the micro-blogging site, saying that she takes this in a positive manner as the Prime Minister is not only aware of her existence but also reads her work.

A few minutes after Akshay's interview with PM Narendra Modi came to an end and the official handle of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tweeted out PM Modi's remark about Twinkle Khanna, the actress-turned-author replied, "I have a rather positive way of looking at this-Not only is the Prime Minister aware that I exist but he actually reads my work :) (sic)"
During his interaction with PM Modi, Akshay Kumar asked him if he actively follows people and their conversations on Twitter. To which, PM Modi replied, "Main aapka bhi Twitter dekhta hoon aur Twinkle Khanna ji ka Twitter dekhta hoon. Kabhi Kabhi toh mujhe lagta hai ki vo mere upar gussa nikaalti hai Twitter pe, toh uske kaaran aapke parivaarik jeevan mein badi shaanti rehti hogi. Unka pura gussa mujpe nikal jaata hoga, isliye aapko araam rehta hoga. Toh is prakaar se main aapke kaam aaya hoon. (I look at your Twitter and Twinkle Khanna ji's Twitter too. Sometimes I feel since she vents all her anger on me on Twitter, your domestic life must be peaceful. So this is how I have been of use to you.)"
PM Narendra Modi also revealed that he met Twinkle Khanna's grandfather Chunnibhai Kapadia many years ago.
Citing the incident, PM Modi said, "Gujarat mein ek bohot bada akaal (drought) padha tha, toh hum log kuch na kuch samaajik kaam karte the. Usmein hum butter milk ke kendra chalaate thay (During a severe drought in Gujarat, some of us would do some social work. We would run a buttermilk centre)."
He added that a renowned sweetshop owner made Chunnibhai meet Modi during one of the programmes in Mumbai. "Unhone donation diya tha aur humne chaach kendra shuru kiye thay bohot badi matra mein. Toh us samay meri unki nanaji se mulaqat hui thi. Kaafi baatein huin thi unke saath (He had donated money and we began running a chaach centre. Back then I met her grandfather. We spoke quite a lot)," said PM Modi.
Twinkle Khanna is a columnist and an author. Her last book Pyjamas Are Forgiving hit the shelves in 2018. Twinkle, known for her liberal views on Twitter and her column in a daily, has often spoken about her political ideology being different from husband Akshay Kumar's.
