Jammu: Lok Adalat settles 376 cases

JAMMU, APRIL 25: A Lok Adalat was held here at District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Jammu.
During the Lok Adalat, six benches were constituted to settle cases of different nature.
Bench number 1 comprising V.C. Koul, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu, Nighat Sultana, Additional District Judge, Bank Cases Jammu and Haq Nawaz Zargar, 3rd Additional District & Sessions Judge TADA POTA, dealt with Bank Cases, Civil Cases and Criminal cases.
Similarly, bench number 2 comprising Mohan Lal Manhas, Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Cases Jammu and Tasleem Arief, Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption Jammu, Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Presiding Officer MACT dealt with MACT Cases .
Bench number 3 comprising Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, Pawan Sharma, Sub-Judge, Jammu and Arti Devi, Munsiff, JMIC Jammu dealt with cases related to Criminal Compoundable offences, U/s 138 N.I Act, Petty Criminal Offences.
Likewise, bench number 4 comprising Yahya Firdous Ahangar, Special Railway Magistrate Jammu, Manjeet Rai, Special Mobile Magistrate P&T Jammu and Wangial Tsering, Forest Magistrate Jammu dealt with Electricity Water, Passenger Tax, and Civil cases of all nature.
Bench number 5 comprising Naushad Ahmed Khan. Secretary DLSA Jammu and Dinesh Gupta, Special Mobile Magistrate, dealt with Traffic Cases. Besides, bench number 6 comprising Manoj Parihar, Special Municipal Magistrate, Jammu and Slahuddin Ahmed, Additional Mobile Magistrate Jammu dealt with Municipal & Petty Compoundable cases.
Meanwhile, a special Bench was also constituted to deal with Matrimonial cases which comprised of VC Koul, Chairman, DLSA, Pr. District & Sessions Judge Jammu, Haq Nawaz Zargar, 3rd Addl. District & Sessions Judge, TADA/POTA, Kalpana Revo, Addl. District Judge Matrimonial, Jammu and Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary, DLSA Jammu.
A total 414 cases were taken up, of which, 376 cases were disposed of. A total of Rs.607, 011,616 was realized as compound fee.
