Two illegal stone crushers sealed by the designated committee

Jammu, Apr 29: Two Stone crusher namely M/s Shiva Stone Crusher and Khushi Stone Crusher operating illegally in Tawi River at Village Nandni, Jammu were sealed today by the designated committee comprising of Rishpal Singh-Addl. Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Satpal-Divisional Forest Officer Jammu, Chander Parkash Kotwal-Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Singh Rana-District Mineral Officer Geology and Mining Department Jammu, Sumit Puri-XEN Flood Control Jammu, Sunniya Ashkoor Wani-SDPO Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Ajay Bharti-Tehsildar JDA and Arun Bhagat-Incharge Police Post Phallian Mandal Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Hon'ble Court of J&K in WPPIL no. 19/2012 titled Ashish Sharma and others V/s State of J&K and others has passed orders for stoppage of illegal extraction of minor minerals from Tawi Riverbed downstream Nagrota.
In pursuance to the direction of the Hon'ble Court the Divisional Commissioner Jammu vides Order no. 601/RA/WPPIL-27/2014/ 1047-61 dated:- 23/07/2018 has constituted a committee of above referred Officers with mandate to :- (i)The team will visit all the areas, where mining is allowed or prohibited regularly, to monitor the strict implementation of the mining plan as per guideline in the regard, wherever mining is permitted and to enforce the orders of Hon'ble High Court for the Prohibition, where it is prevented. (ii)Team will also inspect the sites, where the crushers are installed to check, if the material stored/ stacked at these sites or in the storage units, is within the permissible limit, as prescribed under rules.(iii)The team will visit such other places also, where the material is stored/ stacked after extraction. (iv)The committee is mandate to identify the location for establishing the check posts for intercepting the vehicles engaged in transportation of extracted materials.
The designated committee visited the Tawi area, at village Nandni on 29/04/2019 and found that two illegal stone crushers were operating clandestinely.
The Committee sealed both the stone crushers and kept on the Sapurdnama of Incharge Police Post Phallian Mandal Jammu. Besides, the committee has also seized one Tractor Trolly which was handed over the Incharge Police Post Pouni Chack Jammu.
