Lakhs go down the drain as JKMSC fails to perform
4/30/2019 5:54:41 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Coporation Limited has failed to perform despite availability of huge funds which it spends mostly on salary and vehicles.
The JKMSCL came into existence for stopping backdoor purchasing of drugs at exorbitant rates but it seems due to lack of knowledge, incompetence and vested interests, the objective has not been achieved.
It has been learnt that the poor patients of district and Sub district as well as Medical Colleges are being forced to buy essential, commonly used injections as hospitals do not have enough stock of supplies to cater to the demands. "At present, the government hospitals are facing acute shortage of drugs and fluids. If there is an emergency then, who will responsible for not providing such items timely, "sources said adding that all types of drugs are available in the hospitals, only for VVIPs or emergency cases.
A senior doctor said that the supplies of the drugs and other required items are not being purchased timely despite taking 75 percent of funds from the hospital.
"We are forced to ask them to buy drugs, fluid and others basic medicines from the markets from their own pockets because we don't have enough amounts to buy the same for them," doctor claimed.
Exposing tall claims of the Health Ministry, sources added that the Babus are enjoying s luxurious life using corporation vehicles and other freebies.
