Workshop on child protection rights held

Kishtwar, Apr 30: As per the directions of J & K State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar today organized One Day Workshop on Child Rights and Child Protection Issues as per J & K Juvenile Justice Act 2013. The workshop was organized under the guidance of S. C. Katal Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar. The inagural session was presided over by Sudhir Khajuria Chief Judicial Magistrate/Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Kishtwar
whereas Shakti Pathak, SSP Kishtwar was Guest of Honour. Touseef Magray, Secretary, DLSA Kishtwar while speaking on the ocassion told the gathering that the major purpose of organizing this workshop was to sensitize all the stake holders i.e Police Officers, Prosecutor, Lawyers, Juvenile Justice Board Members and Judges with the provisions of the Act so as to ensure the effective implementation of J & K Juvenile Justice Act 2013. Sudhir Khajuria Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Kishtwar discussed with the participants, the main provisions of the Act and also told the police officials that while dealing with the cases pertaining to juvenile in conflict with law, they shall ensure that their humane side is at work. The participants were also sensitized with regard to the child rights and various judgments pertaining to the child protection issues. The workshop was attended by Nissar Ahmed ASP Kishtwar, Mansoor Ahmed CPO Courts Kishtwar, Mrs. Basharat Nazir LCPO and Members of Juvenile Justice Board Kishtwar. Advocates O.P.Parihar and I.J.Charak, Retainer Lawyers of DLSA Kishtwar were also present on this ocassion.
