| Kanhaiya Kumar is a former President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union. Kanhaiya Kumar hails from Bihar and a sympathizer of Communist Party of India. His native village is Bihat Post Barauni in Begusarai District of Bihar. These days, he is contesting the Lok Sabha seat as a CPI candidate against the top hardliner saffron BJP leader and a Union Minister Giriraj Singh in Narender Modi's Cabinet, from Begusarai Lok Sabha.
Earlier he was declared as the 'Desh Drohi' by the government and now the ECI has given the clean chit for contesting the Lok Sabha election from Begusarai and at the same time, case against him is in the court of law of the land. Kanhaiya Kumar is whemently pleading and asking the government as to why the charge sheet in the case has not been filed against him as yet and a period of more than twenty months are over ? He is on the Interim bail from the court. Besides concentrating in his own constituency, he is visiting the nation and complaining against the misrule of the Modi's government. His main focus is on the ideology of great framer of the Indian Constitution, Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar who was very much interested in the up liftment of the weaker sections and the down trodden of the Indian society. Kanhaiya Kumar is making the regular attacks on the BJP as also the RSS, with full force and wisdom, who are bent upon to disturb the brotherhood and secularism of the country. Kanhaiya Kumar also alleged that Modi sarkar in fact is a Corporate sarkar as it has been highjacked by the big Corporate like Ambanis, Addanis etc and also indulging in the caste politics in the country. According to him, Modi government is making a headway for establishing the Authoritarian rule instead of strengthening the Parliamentary Democracy in the country.While briefing over the various TV channels in this country, Kanhaiya Kumar stated that before 2014 he was no where on the Indian polity so far but it was the electronic / print media and the Modi government which made him as the fire brand leader and rising politician in the country. He thanked the people of this great country and particularly the youth of India irrespective of the fact whether they are in the schools and Universities or not in the education sector for supporting him against the wrong doings made by the Prime Minister Narender Modi during his rule of five years after 2014. Being the fire brand leader Kanhaiya Kumar is attracting the youth and students particularly besides the large gathering of the people of different age groups and impressing them with his good speeches. Really he is a great threat to the Modi government in these ongoing Lok Sabha elections in this great country. From his speeches, it is very clear that he is deadly against the ideology of the RSS as he is alleging day and night that the RSS is quite busy in making the country as "Hindu Samrajya" in Modi's rule thereby totally forgetting the "Ganga Jamuni Tehjeeb" which prevailed in this nation since more than 6000 years. According to him, there is a great threat to the brotherhood amongst the different religions of the country and in fact Modi government is dividing the country and spreading the hateredness among the innocent masses. He warned the people of the country to be well awared of the ill designed and divisive policies of the BJP and NDA which according to him are against the Integrity and the Sovereignty of the country. Kanhaiya Kumar was very critical about the functioning of PM Modi during his rule of five years over the issues of Kissans and the youths of this country. He alleged that the Kissans and the youths were maltreated rather exploited like any thing. The Kissans who were marching towards to New Delhi last year to lodge their massive protest against his government at the center were stopped and were no to enter New Delhi where the strong bandobast was made by the government at all the entry points New Delhi. Instead of listening to their genuine demands they were lathi charged and sprinkled colored water over them and also they were beaten up mercilessly. PM Modi never dared to meet them. At the same, the youths of this country who were promised with the providing of two crores jobsto them were betrayed. Kanhaiya Kumar also alleged that the crops of the Kissans were insured by the Insurance companies but they were not given the benefits of the crop insurance and made to sufer more and more and on the countrary the Insurance companies had earned the profit more than ten thousand crires out of the crop insurance scheme. In one of the TV Channel debate conducted by Kishore Advani and which was participated by Kanhaiya Kumar and Dr. Sambit Patra of BJP besides audience constituting number of leading journalists and the gathering of experts and the learned people of the society, Kanhaiya Kumar asked Dr. Sambit Patra to explain as to why his party is preaching the killer of the father of the nation Mahatama Gandhi-Nathu Ram Godse. On one side his party for the 'Drama sake' is loving Mahatama just to tell the nation that they have the highest regards for Gandhi Ji and on the other, they don't condemn the killer Nathu Ram Godse whose background was the RSS and has adopted him as the role model to proceed further in this large Parliamentary Democracy. He is alleging that due to the wrong policies of the Modi government at the centre Vijay Malya, Nirav Modi, Chowksi and others remained successful in leaving the nation without any fear and have settled abroad. He also condemned Narender Modi for not fulfilling the promises he had made with the people of the nation which include the depositing of Rupees fifteen lakhs in the bank accounts of the citizens, curbing of the rising prices of petrol and diesel, controlling the Inflation, two crores jobs to the unemployed of the nation every year, free education to the students and the children, protection to the Women etc. etc. When Modi remained a failure in fulfilling the promises, Modi started the bogey of fighting with Pakistan and had diverted the people attention from the main issues. Two years after when Vijay Malya left the nation and settled in London (UK) and he made statement at London that before leaving India, he had met with the Union finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Indian Parliament and had offered to liquidate the funds to the public. The Union finance Minister Arun Jaitley never disclosed earlier and surprisingly confessed the same after two years. Kanhaiya Kumar asked as to why the Prime Minister Narender remained mum over the issue of Mallaya. The country wants to know the exact facts in this regard. Pertinent to mention here that the JNU campus row has left the nation divided - on one side we have the Central Government and a section of people (ABVP and Sangh organizations) who call the students terrorists, jihadis, pro-Pakistanis and naxals, and on the other, the teachers, students and artists who are protesting against the University crackdown.To speak in the social media lingo, the former group, the blind supporters of the government and its decisions, are referred to as 'bhakts' and are lately accused of being custodians and self-proclaimed role-models of patriotism, and the latter group are referred to as the 'seculars', who have taken up on themselves the 'struggle' to keep democracy and secularism alive in the nation. A meeting called by ex-members of Democratic Students Union (DSU) to protest the hanging of 2001 Parliament terror attack mastermind Afzal Guru, led to the arrest of students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar on sedition charges and had become a movement of sorts, with over 5,000 students protesting at the JNU campus. Many stories about the Afzal Guru event went viral, and one of those was a video of a prime time debate where an anchor stamps the JNU students as traitors, terrorists and anti-nationals, reiterating slogans like "Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi" and "India go back", apparently used during the event, but there is a side of the story that is seldom spoken about or reported in the national media. A student of second year in JNU Harshit Aggarwal wrote about incident.
"On February 9, ex-members of DSU had called for a cultural meeting of a protest against what they called 'the judicial killing of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat' and in solidarity with 'the struggle of Kashmiri people for their democratic right to self-determination.' A lot of Kashmiri students from inside and outside the campus were to attend the event."Describing the members of DSU, which he terms is an ultra-leftist group, Harshit says they're a group of well read students, not terrorists or naxals by any means, and during the two years he spent in the campus, never has he witnessed or heard about terror activity 'as much as of throwing a stone' about them.
He then asks, "Did they do something wrong in organizing a meeting over the issue of Kashmir? Is the issue of Kashmir so sacred to us and our brains so brainwashed with the idea of nazi-like nationalism that we are not even ready to hear about the issue of Kashmir from Kashmiris themselves?" and says though he is not aware of exact nuances of the political matter, he is ready to hear, learn and debate all sorts of opinions. He also says he doesn't support secession of Kashmir.The members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) wrote to the administration asking it to withdraw permission of organising the meeting by DSU as it was 'harmful for campus atmosphere' and to avoid clashes, the administration did. Harshit says ABVP was scuttling the beautiful 'democratic space' JNU offers and that's when DSU asked for help from Jawaharlal Nehru Students' Union (JNUSU) and other student organisations like the Students Federation of India (SFI), and All India Students Association (AISA). DSU requested them to gather in support of their 'right to democratically and peacefully hold meetings' and NOT in support of their stand on Kashmir or their political ideology. JNUSU and other student organisations decided to go ahead with the meeting and to not let ABVP scuttle the hard-earned democratic space, to debate and discuss, in the campus. Besides Kanahaiya Kumar, nearly 5,000 people from different walks of life, students, teachers, activists and artists were in the JNU protesting in "Defence of Democracy and Right to Dissent". They formed human chains, raised slogans and burnt effigies demanding sedition charges against Kanhaiya be dropped and to end what they call as the 'witch-hunt of students in the University". Based upon the prevailing facts of his tremendous compaign, Kanahaiya Kumar in a number of public meetings and the election rallies referred that when the Tricour was finalized by the Committee constituted by the Union Government for the purpose it was this RSS which burnt the same as it was not happy with this. Not only this, he too referred that it was the RSS people who helped the Britishers during the freedom struggle of the coubtry just acting as their slaves and the henchmen. They had not played any constructive role during the freedom movement the leadership of Mahatama Gandhi. But on the contrary it was the Indian National Congress was the only party which took active part in the freedom struggle of the country. In one of the debate, when Dr. Sambit Patra of BJP just asked Kanahaiya Kumar as to how many years he took to complete his Phd. from JNU, he instantly reacted sharply and asked Dr. Sambit Patra of BJP to explain the period in which he cleared his MBBS. He alleged that the PM Modi is doing the Marketing job and staging a drama to build fear among the masses of the country against Pakistan and is politicizing the Air Strikes done by the Air Force of the country in these elections days. He weas strongly a very critical about the actions of the PM Modi regarding the Demonetization, GST High Inflation, Unemployment, Creating of the rift between the Swarans and the Dalits of this country, Making of the erosions in the functioning of the Universities all over the country, Undue Governmental interference in the Constitutional Bodies, Judiciary, CBI, RBI etc. etc. In one of his election rally in his constituency on being asked from one person of the audience, Kanahaiya Kumar spoke at length and explained the meaning of Azadi and the Nationalism as under : - According to him, he does not mean the Azadi of Kashmir from India but he wants Azadi from the Modi government from all the evils concerning Kissans, Youths, Dalits, Down Troddens, Women, Casteism, Hindu fanatics, Corruption, Looting, Crimes, Poors Exploitation etc. etc. And about Nationalism, he explained that by saying as the Nationalist, one cannot become the Nationalist , he or she is under obligation to prove himself or herself as Indian ny the deeds and the actions. Elaborating more on these issues involved, he stated that he is true nationalist and a son of the poor man and his beloved mother is working in the Anganwari at his native land. Not only this one of his brother while serving in the Indian Army has laid down his life for the country. What else the government wants from him. At the same time he told the gathering that at the moment he is organizing the youths and the countrymen against the talkative Prime Minister Narender Modi who while diverting the very attention of the people from his misrule since five years, he is raising the bogey against Pakistan. When one experiences and listens to his speeches it looks that Kanahaiya Kumar is a gem and there is no substitute to him. His style of convincing the people of this country is considered as an extra ordinary. He is in the habit of hearing the volley of Questionings patiently and giving the exact replies to the queries politely. To all the questions, Kanahaiya Kumar replied specifically with the solid and well based reasoning's very politely and by this style of function he is being termed as the upcoming rising politician on the Indian polity. The youths are come forward in large numbers in his support against Modi government at the center these days. Certainly MAY,23 would be the Jubilant day for Kanahaiya Kumar when he will be declared as the MP from Begusarai. By his coming into the Indian Parliament, the Parliamentary Democracy in our country would be strengthened much. |
