People mock at poor condition of DC office Kishtwar road, exposes developmental claims | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 30: The people traveling on the road connecting the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and the shopkeepers holding business on either side of the road mocks the poor condition of the road from Kuleed Chowk upto Hunjala village spread over 3 KM as the road stretch is full of pot holes threatening the lives of the daily commuters. As per the details available with "Early Times" The execution of the road widening work from Kuleed Chowk to Hunjala is the part of Kishtwar-Padder highway under the execution by GREF since last over one decade. The people inform the "Early Times" that the condition of road surface is in worst condition as the GREF authorities along with District administration fail to widen the road as well as to maintain the surface of the road passing through the area despite sufficient land and structural compensation was available with collector land acquisition for payment to the land owners, the part of which was later diverted by the former collector to clear the payments at other stretcher on this prestigious road. The locals inform that all the District officers including DC Kishtwar, ADDC Kishtwar, ADC Kishtwar, ACR Kishtwar and all other District officers posted in Kishtwar travelled on this road, but no one bothers to improve the condition of this road. They said that some time GREF officials fills the pot holes, but same is not sufficient to make the road better added that the 3KM road stretch also lacks proper drainage system and some hotel owners were clearly seen throwing the daily waste including flesh outlets that spills on the road causes lot of inconvenience to the daily commuters. Some people also rued the delay in widening the road added that the land owners has no objection to give the land if the compensation as agreed will be paid to them. They said that some people with wasted interest and are not entity are creating hurdles in road widening and called upon the administration to immediate take necessary steps towards road widening of road from Kuleed Chowk of DC Office complex so that people living on both side of the road will construct shops and establish business units in left out land. |
