Jammu, Apr 30: Govt. College for Women, Parade today organized one day interactive programme on United Nations sustainable Development Goals (SDG:) in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family. On this occasion Secretary, Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez Rahela, KAS was the Chief Guest. The programme started with presentation of bouquet to Jenab Talat Parvez Rahela, KAS, Ch. R. A. Inqallabi, Special Secretary, Higher Education Department and Padam Shree Shri S.P. Verma, President, Gandhi Global Family (GGF). At the outset Dr. Hemla Aggrawal, Principal, Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu presented the welcome address. Speaking on the occasion she highlighted the importance of sustainable Development Goals for the Society. In her address she recalled the long association of the Institution with Gandhi Global Family. Prof. B.B. Anand, HoD, Political Science Department present the key note address and highlighted various activities organized within the College on Gandhi in collaboration with GGF, Dr. S.P. Verma, President GGF described the aims and objectives of GGF. Ch. R. A. Inqallabi, Special Secretary, Higher Education Department deliberated on the importance of Gandhian Values in the modern world. In his presidential address, Jenab Talat Parvez Rahela, KAS, Secretary Higher Education Department spoke in length on the United Nations sustainable Development Goals and stressed that these global goals can transform the whole world into an ideal society. He deliberated threadbare on all the 17 Goals of SDG. Prof. Raj Shree Dhar from RUSA, students and staff members of the College attended the Programme. The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by Prof. Sonia Khajuria. |
